Properties and Usage:
Tert-butyl peroxybenzoate (CAS 614-45-9), referred to as TBPB, is a highly efficient organic peroxide, mainly used for free radical initiation reactions.
1. Polymer materials industry
Polymerization initiator: TBPB is used as a highly efficient free radical initiator in polymerization reactions of polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, etc., to improve the production efficiency and reaction stability of materials.
Crosslinking and curing agent: In the curing process of unsaturated polyester resin and epoxy resin, TBPB effectively promotes the crosslinking reaction of resins and enhances the heat resistance and mechanical properties of materials.
Rubber and plastic modification: used to optimize the durability of rubber and elastomers, and to improve the strength and performance of materials through crosslinked polymer networks.
2. Chemical industry and organic synthesis
Oxidation reaction: TBPB helps the efficient synthesis of fine chemicals such as benzoates, alcohols and ketones in reactions such as catalytic oxidation and olefin epoxidation.
Cracking reaction: As a catalyst in cracking reactions, TBPB improves reaction efficiency and is a key component in fine chemicals.
3. Coatings and Adhesives
Performance Optimization: TBPB is used in the production of coatings and adhesives. As an accelerator, it enhances the weather resistance and mechanical strength of the products and improves the overall performance of the products.
Storage conditions: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources and avoid direct sunlight. The warehouse temperature should not exceed 30℃. Pack and seal. Store separately from reducing agents and alkalis and avoid mixed storage. Equip with appropriate types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment. The storage area should be equipped with appropriate materials to contain leaks. Vibration, impact and friction are prohibited.
Packing: This product is packed in 25kg drums, and it can also be customized according to customers' requirements
