Chemical analysis reagent

O-O-Phthalaldehyde is commonly used as an analytical reagent, especially in fluorescence detection, as an amine alkaloid reagent for the determination of primary amines and peptide bond decomposers.

Fluorescent reagent

Due to its unique fluorescent properties, o-O-Phthalaldehyde is used in pre-column HPLC separation of amino acid derivatives and in flow cytometry for the detection of thiol groups in proteins.
