L-Valine is a key essential amino acid, presenting as white monoclinic crystals or crystalline powder. After heavy washing with ethanol and aqueous solution, it forms colorless flakes or scaly crystals. L-Valine is odorless, has a unique bitter taste, and its melting point is about 315℃. In a 5% aqueous solution, the pH value is 5.5 to 7.0, showing good stability to heat, light and air. It is easily soluble in water (at 25℃, the solubility is 8.85g/100ml), but almost insoluble in ethanol and ether.
