D(+)-Lactide is a dimer of lactic acid, which is a colorless crystal or white solid. It has good biocompatibility and biodegradability and is mainly used to prepare biodegradable materials.
1. Production of biodegradable plastics
D(+)-Lactide is a key raw material for the production of polylactic acid (PLA). PLA, as a biodegradable plastic, is widely used in food packaging, disposable tableware and medical materials.
2. Production of medical materials
D(+)-Lactide can be used to prepare a variety of biodegradable medical materials, including drug sustained-release carriers, absorbable sutures and tissue engineering scaffolds. These materials can be gradually degraded in the body to avoid secondary surgery for patients.
3. Food and cosmetic additives
