1.Pharmaceutical industry

3-mercaptopropionic acid (CAS 107-96-0) is the intermediate of the drug Fenarol. By providing sulfhydryl (-SH) functional group, it can enhance the physicochemical properties and biological activity of the drug, and improve the effectiveness and stability of the drug.

2. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) stabiliser

3-Mercaptopropionic acid is used as a heat stabiliser in PVC production to enhance the thermal stability of PVC and prevent decomposition and discolouration under high temperature conditions.

3.Antioxidant

3-Mercaptopropionic acid has excellent antioxidant property in industrial synthesis process, which can prevent the degradation of chemicals, foodstuffs and other materials under oxidation, and prolong the stability of materials by reacting with free radicals.

4.Electronic chemicals

3-Mercaptopropionic acid is used in the electronics industry as a chemical reagent for the production of electronic chemicals, such as providing stability in the cleaning and protection of semiconductor and electronic component film surfaces.
