¿Qué es el 4,4′-bismaleimidodifenilmetano?

4,4′-Bismaleimidodiphenylmethane (BDM) is a bifunctional monomer used to make heat-resistant thermosetting resins and crosslinked polymer materials.
BDM is used in bismaleimide resin systems for high-temperature composites, electrical insulation and structural adhesives. It can also modify epoxy and phenolic resins or act as a crosslinking agent in selected rubber systems.
BDM Serves as a Reactive Component in High-Temperature Bismaleimide Resins
4,4′-Bismaleimidodiphenylmethane is a main reactive component in bismaleimide thermosetting resins. BDM-based BMI resins are used as matrices for carbon-fiber and other fiber-reinforced composites that need to retain their properties at temperatures above the normal service range of conventional epoxy composites.
These resin systems are used in aircraft, aerospace components and other high-temperature composite structures.
BDM Improves the Heat Resistance of Epoxy and Phenolic Resins
4,4′-Bismaleimidodiphenylmethane can be incorporated into epoxy and phenolic resin systems to increase crosslink density and improve performance at higher temperatures.
These modified thermosetting systems are used in electrical insulation, encapsulation materials, high-temperature adhesives and composites where standard epoxy or phenolic resins do not provide sufficient thermal performance.
BDM Is Used in High-Temperature Structural Adhesives
BDM-based bismaleimide resin systems are used in structural adhesives for high-temperature bonding of metals and composite materials.
Typical applications include aircraft components, motors, electrical assemblies and other parts exposed to elevated operating temperatures.
BDM Provides Heat-Resistant Resin Systems for Electrical and Electronic Materials
4,4′-Bismaleimidodiphenylmethane is used in heat-resistant resin systems for electrical and electronic materials. It can be incorporated into modified epoxy and BMI resin formulations for laminates, encapsulation materials and other applications that require higher thermal stability than conventional thermosetting resins.
BDM Crosslinks Bromobutyl Rubber at Elevated Temperatures
4,4′-Bismaleimidodiphenylmethane can be used as a crosslinking agent for brominated isobutylene-isoprene rubber (BIIR).
BDM can crosslink BIIR at elevated temperatures. Zinc oxide can accelerate curing, while a small amount of dicumyl peroxide can be used with BDM when faster curing is required. The resulting crosslinked BIIR is used in rubber products that require low compression set and good heat resistance.
BDM Improves Adhesion Between Reinforcing Cords and Rubber
4,4′-Bismaleimidodiphenylmethane can also be used in water-based treatment systems for rubber-reinforcing cords.
BDM can be dispersed with rubber latex, including carboxyl-modified hydrogenated nitrile rubber latex. It helps improve adhesion between the reinforcing cord and the surrounding rubber matrix.
