Bismuth Subcarbonate Applications
Pharmaceutical Raw Material
Our Pharmaceutical grade Bismuth Subcarbonate is used as a bismuth-containing raw material in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Radiopaque Filler for Medical Polymers
Bismuth Subcarbonate is added to catheter tubing and other medical-polymer components to make them visible under X-ray imaging.
Production of Other Bismuth Compounds
Bismuth Subcarbonate is used to produce bismuth oxide, bismuth nitrate and selected organic or inorganic bismuth salts.
Ceramic Glazes and Enamels
Bismuth Subcarbonate can be used as a bismuth source in ceramic glazes, enamel frits and specialty glass compositions.
Other Applications
Bismuth Subcarbonate can be also used as pearlescent plastics additive, as well as pearlescent pigment in foundations, loose powders, and nail polishes.
Packaging and Storage
Packaging: 25 kg fiber drum with double inner plastic bags or 1 kg aluminum foil bag
Storage: Store Bismuth Subcarbonate in a tightly closed container in a dry area. Do not store the material near acids. Contact with acid dissolves the carbonate and releases carbon dioxide, which can cause pressure buildup inside a closed contaminated container.
