Bismuth Germanate Applications
High-purity Bismuth Germanate powder is used as a source material for growing Bi₄Ge₃O₁₂ single crystals. It can be used in Czochralski and other melt-growth processes.
The finished BGO crystal has a density of 7.13 g/cm³ and absorbs gamma rays efficiently. It is also non-hygroscopic, so the crystal does not require the same moisture protection as sodium iodide. Its emission peak is around 480 nm. Processed crystals are used in PET scanners, gamma spectroscopy, Compton shields, oil-well logging and high-energy physics detectors.
Bismuth Germanate powder is also used to prepare ceramic scintillators, sintered test pieces and other BGO-based research materials.
Packaging and Storage
Packaging: 25 g sealed bottle or 500 g sealed bottle
Store Bismuth Germanate in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry place. Keep the powder away from dust, metal particles and other sources of contamination.
